Keeping Safe

In the aftermath of Covid-19, please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to guarantee the safety of our customers and our team. Please take a look at the guidelines below so you know what to expect on your next visit to The Duke. Our many thanks in advance for your support and cooperation.

What we’re doing

Maintaining all areas of the pub and restaurant, and all facilities, to the highest possible standard of cleanliness

Ensuring our team are wearing appropriate PPE and adhering to the best possible hygiene standards, including frequently washing their hands

Ensuring that no staff member is coming to work if they display any symptoms of Covid-19, or feel unwell

Spacing out our tables to a safe social distance

Managing bookings, party sizes and routes around the premises to ensure a safe social distance is maintained wherever possible

Taking customer details to support any track and trace that may be required

Continuously monitoring and following all updated Government guidelines and information from industry governing bodies

Providing hand sanitiser stations when entering and throughout the premises

What we ask of you
 –

Please make a booking wherever possible to help us manage how many people are coming in and out of the pub. You’re welcome to walk in, however we have no space for you to wait for a table or stand inside should there not be a table available immediately

Our outside tables are not bookable online, so please speak to the team directly if you would like to reserve one. Please note that, should there be adverse weather, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to move your booking inside

Current Government guidelines specify table service only – please respect this, and your fellow guests, by not standing inside or walking up to our bar for service, and no vertical drinking

Please note that tables of up to 4 guests will have their table for 2 hours; 4-6 guests 2.5 hours and 8 guests or more 3 hours

Children and dogs are welcome as always – whereas we’d normally be happy for them to explore the pub, we now ask you to please keep them at your table in consideration of other guests

As far as possible, please aim to wear a mask or face covering when arriving at, leaving from, or walking around the pub to visit the bathrooms. Masks are not required while you are sat at your table

Please maintain a social distance in the building wherever possible

Please limit bookings to two households or support bubbles

You will be shown to your table by our host. Once seated, please aim to remain so unless absolutely necessary

Please avoid making visits to other groups or tables
